Clinical case description:

Patient presented with 8 x 11 FPD with #’s 8, 9 and 11 as abutments and edentulism #10. FPD abutment #9 had failed with periapical abscess. Patient also has a large amalgam tattoo on the facial #8-9 area.

 

Phase I surgery :

Section FPD #11M and #8D. Extraction #9 and excision amalgam tattoo #8-9 area, with particulate osseous grafting with Geistlich Bio-Oss® for ridge preservation #9 area with a Geistlich Mucograft® Seal. Also, I placed Geistlich Mucograft® to cover amalgam tattoo excision.

 

Phase II surgery:

Implant placement #9 with cantilever bridge #9 x 10.
